We’re Christy and Tyler, the husband-and-wife team behind Mad Tree Woodcrafts®. Over the years, we’ve had the honor of creating thousands of custom wooden keepsake boxes for people around the world. Every box is handcrafted by Tyler in our workshop, while Christy works directly with each customer to bring their engraving ideas to life.
How We Personalize Each Box
Every keepsake box can be personalized using our laser engraver. Messages, poems, initials, logos, or even photos and drawings can be engraved on the lid, inside the lid, the front, or any side of the box. Most engraving requests come to us by email, and Christy uses her artistic eye to suggest fonts, placement, and sizing. We always send digital proofs before engraving begins to ensure customers feel confident in the final design.
The Stories That Inspire Us
One of the most meaningful parts of our work is hearing the stories behind each order. Customers often open up about why they are creating a keepsake box—sometimes to celebrate a wedding, mark a 50th anniversary, give a teenage daughter a place to keep her treasures, or to honor the memory of a loved one who has passed away. These stories have brought us laughter, joy, and sometimes tears, reminding us that our boxes hold more than objects—they hold love and memories.

Tyler handcrafts each box from solid hardwood, finishing it with three coats of Arm-R-Seal Oil-Based Urethane Topcoat to ensure durability and beauty for years to come. We offer keepsake boxes in three sizes and several wood combinations, each customizable with engraving at no additional cost. Unlike mass-produced alternatives, every order receives our personal attention from start to finish.
